SEE NEW DZHUS COLLECTION AT BERLIN FASHION WEEK THIS JULY
Since its inception, NIKOLO BERTOK has built its identity on experimentation, craftsmanship, and a commitment to refined tailoring. The journey began in 2005 with a 30-piece debut collection influenced by 1990s subcultures.
Today, the designer’s work is defined by a deep understanding of form, identity, and the role clothing plays in shaping personal expression. His approach blends traditional tailoring techniques with a modern sensitivity to structure, fit, and individuality. Rather than following trends, he focuses on creating garments that reveal character and confidence through precision, proportion, and thoughtful construction.
Working from his London atelier, NIKOLO BERTOK has developed a practice that values close collaboration with clients, meticulous craftsmanship, and a respect for the rituals of making. His designs often reflect an interest in how clothing can support identity—whether through subtle architectural shaping, custom tailoring, or refined minimalism.
NIKOLO BERTOK continues to evolve while remaining grounded in the principles that define his work: authenticity, technical skill, and a belief that well-crafted garments can accompany their wearer through many chapters of life. The result is a design language that is contemporary yet timeless, understated yet distinctive, and always rooted in the art of tailoring.
In 2008–09, the couture collection Butterflies appeared at New York, London, and Brighton Fashion Week, establishing the brand internationally.
In 2010, Perception collection brought fashion and technology together at London Fashion Week, leading to a commission for the London Art Fair.
After completing a Fashion Design degree in 2011, the designer introduced the Identity collection, which defined the brand’s conceptual and emotionally driven approach to tailoring.
From 2013 onward, the Atelier became the core of the practice, specialising in bespoke and made-to-measure work that emphasised precision and individuality. Collections such as MacroCosmica – Heaven (2014) and Dancing in the Waters (2017) reflected a growing focus on structure, emotion, and transformation.
In 2024, after a period of reflection, the brand relaunched with a clearer focus on sustainability, authenticity, and storytelling. This new chapter reinforces a dedication to craftsmanship, intentional design, and enduring elegance. Today, the brand also offers an expanded range of products, including homeware and its signature cushion collection, with made-to-order options across ready-to-wear, while many pieces continue to be produced in London.
